ON ASSIGNMENT IN LITHUANIA // HILL OF CROSSES
Million Jesuses watched mine and my friend Max Colson’s (who’s been a fab assistant) every move as we filmed this very unique and spectacular place in Northern Lithuania with a Canon C300 video camera. In this site of pilgrimage, crosses grow organically into the landscape, surround you and swallow you as you stroll through the little meandering paths. The shadows cast by the sun enhance the immensity of this place. Being here in a dark is altogether different experience.
